Yoga Classes


 Troy Youth Assistance is sponsoring Yoga classes for
Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8! 

Yoga participants will learn techniques which promote relaxation and reduce stress to improve personal performance.   
Location: Troy School District Service Center 
​Instructor: Gwen Dickerson, 200-hour Certified Yoga Instructor


Yoga class dates:  Please check back in Fall 2026
Grades 3-5 at 6:30-7pm

Grades 6-8 at 7:15-8pm 
​

$20 registration fee includes all 4 sessions 
Bring your own mat to each session

Girls Stand Strong Workshop

Troy Youth Assistance presents Girls Stand Strong, a life skills workshop for girls in middle school!
This program for girls in grades 6-8 consists of 4 weekly sessions filled with activities and discussions about self-esteem, developing a healthy body image, making healthy and safe choices, and positive communication with friends and parents.

Past Event - The Magic of Hope​

Troy Youth Assistance presented a special event for middle and high school families featuring Anthony Grupido, the Magician with a Story to Tell. 
Through a unique blend of magic, humor, and storytelling, Anthony addressed topics around mental health, resiliency, and suicide prevention in his The Magic of Hope program.  Practical tools and insights were offered to empower youth to face life's challenges. ​ 

This free event was held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at the Athens High School Auditorium at 7:00pm 

Overcoming Frustration & Anger Workshop

Troy Youth Assistance presents Overcoming Frustration and Anger! 
This program for boys in grades 4 & 5 consists of 4 weekly sessions which will focus on teaching positive ways to handle frustration.  


4 weekly sessions:  Please check back in Fall 2026
