PROGRAMS
AND SERVICES
CASEWORKER
Provides casework
services to youth referred to Troy Youth Assistance by police, schools,
community agencies, and parents. Professional staff assesses the needs
of each child and may provide counseling services, link families with
available resources, or make appropriate referrals. You can download a Referral Form here.
FAMILY EDUCATION
Sponsors classes,
workshops, and presentations focused on improving parent-child
relationships. Professionals offer expert knowledge regarding various
contemporary parenting and family issues.
MENTORS P.L.U.S.
(People Listening, Understanding, Sharing)
Volunteers are
matched one-to-one with youth who live in Troy and need a mentor. Each
volunteer is asked to spend 2-4 hours a week with the child. Support is
available from a professional caseworker.
SKILL BUILDING SCHOLARSHIPS
Provides opportunities
for
skill-building activities to students of elementary age through high
school who may need financial assistance.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
Provides camp
experiences to children who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
YOUTH INVOLVEMENT
Identifies
areas where young people can make a positive contribution to their peer
group and community, such as tutoring younger children.
YOUTH RECOGNITION
This annual Spring
event honors young people for community service, heroic actions,
achievements, and personal successes. This year's information is here.
FUND RAISING
Volunteers generate
funds to support programs through various fund-raising activities.
